Dr. Oscar Rodas

Dr. Oscar Rodas  received his double BS, first in Electronics Engineering, and second in Systems and Computer Science Engineering with a Master of Science in Information Technologies with majors in computer networks and information security. Both areas of specialization during his Master’s were essential for his decision of choosing his research interests which he continues to develop. Then, he received his Ph.D. en Information Technologies at Universidad Galileo (2016). His research interests are monitoring networks, intrusion detections and open source solutions frameworks. His experience spans 13 years working in ICTs in an academic and corporate manner. His interests in ICTs include open source projects and embedded applications, which he encourages his students to learn and apply, as well as developing solutions for SMBs. He published several papers in high ranked international conferences (AINA, IEEE LATINCOM, PASSAT, etc).

Dr. Jorge Lopez

Dr. Jorge Lopez  is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Réseaux et Services Multimedia Mobiles (RS2M) department at Telecom SudParis / Université Paris-Saclay, France. Jorge obtained his PhD degree from the Paris-Saclay University in 2015. His master’s and bachelor’s degree were obtained in the area of Systems, Informatics and Computer Science at Galileo University, Guatemala. He has experience working as a postdoctoral researcher / lecturer at Tomsk State University, Russia. Jorge worked as an undergraduate lecturer and teaching assistant at Galileo University. He also possesses industrial experience, working for international companies as, Huawei Telecommunications and Telus International and eApps Hosting.

Currently his research interests include: Trust management, network monitoring and security, distributed systems, on-line(runtime) network monitoring, software testing, software quality estimation and optimization, formal languages and algorithms.
